Hi guys, have you ever talked to people who say that they “want” more money and a better life but they don’t do anything about it? There are some people I don’t understand and I am sure they will never be wealthy. Want to know why?
I was talking to a guy the other day he we was going and going saying that he wanted more money, more free time, a better life. But then the conversation went:
Me:
“You know that if you invested in real estate you could have made a very good amount of money! You could quit that job you don’t like.”
Him:
“Real estate! No way. Do you know how much you have to take care, collecting rent, dealing with crazy tenants, doing repairs and fixing stuff. I don’t think so!”
Me:
“Ok, how about getting a second part time job? You could take this extra money and invest in some funds of high yield accounts. Then you could live from the dividends and not have to commute again.”
Him:
“Are you kidding me? Why would I work for a second job that would pay me less than my primary job. And when would I be able to relax and enjoy this new big screen TV I got a couple of months back! Plus I am so tired when I come back from work that I just want to stay home. And what if I invest and then the stock market goes down? I would loose everything!”
Me:
“What if you take some time to go to night school so you can get a big advancement and a pay raise in your job. You can then use this money to create some savings.”
Him:
“Night school! Once I finished college I decided that I would never go to school again. I can’t stand going to a classroom!”
Me:
“Why wouldn’t you start your own part time business so you could gradually ramp it up and enjoy those nice tax benefits that the government has in place for business owners. You could use the money you make and put it in a retirement account”
Him:
“A business? I don’t know where to start and it is too risky. What if it doesn’t work and I don’t make money? I would have worked all this time for nothing! If I work, I want to be paid.”
And every time I suggested something new, he had a “valid” reason for not doing it. No matter what it was, it was “not worth it” for him to try it. The problem is that you can’t do anything about it. You can put all the information in front of them and they will still find an excuse why it’s to good for them and why they don’t want to do it because “it will probably not work”.
People with this type of mindset will never be wealthy and will never get ahead of life, they will always be dragged behind of everything that is happening to them.

Hey Perig!
Nice post! Love it! It’s really amazing to hear all these wanna be rich people giving all these “valid” reasons why they CAN’T do the things that they’re supposed to do to achieve the things that they WANT to achieve! They keep making excuses why they’re not where they want to be instead of actually DOING the things that are necessary to get them closer to their goals! However, I do think that to start, one has to have a vision of WHAT he/she wants to achieve and WHY. The WHY should precede the HOW. Without the WHY, there will be nothing that’s pulling them towards the WHAT. Everything will be a drag to these people without a strong WHY. I know…because I’ve gone through that myself. I wrote a little bit about this topic. I hope you don’t mind if I share this with your readers: http://internetnetworkmarketing101.com/life-mapping-a-vision-of-success/
