First, I had interacted with the author previously. And, second, because of the title.

After skimming through the email, I ventured elsewhere for a few moments only to find myself returning to same location for a second round of investigation. At which time I:

1. Took a more careful read of the email.

2. Thought about what I read a bit more.

3. Clicked on the link in email.

4. And followed that link with the suggested action (which was signing up as an affiliate).

Why Did I Decide To Click A Link?

During my next round of reflection, I asked myself from an internet marketing point of view: “Why did I do what I just did?”

And here were my answers:

1. Because I the email impressed me as sincere.

2. The brevity helped. It was not one of those “read 16 tons of pages and what do you get?” emails.

It was not: “Should you fail to take this next step of action, count yourself among the countless others who in doing so later found themselves screaming ‘I repent’ only to discover that their desperate cries lie unheard at the feet of this god-of-all-internet-gurus.”

4. It contained a personal story/testimony of how the resource hand proven helpful to their network marketing business.
